How To Pray

Matthew 6: 8-9 Jesus gives us specific instructions as HOW TO PRAY.

"Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask. This then is HOW YOU SHOULD PRAY:"

I would like to share with you The Lord's Prayer through a deeper understanding. Jesus was very specific when He gave us instruction on HOW TO PRAY. This prayer is a prayer I have heard and recited most of my life. What was unfortunate was I never understood the power and meaning behind this prayer.

I decided to sit down and dig in. I wanted to experience the fullness of what Jesus intended when He gave us this prayer. Take your time and study each part of this prayer. It is my desire that you take in the fullness of this extraordinary time with your Father in Heaven.

Take one link per day until you have completed it. Then use the guide I have included as a reference to use each day until it simply becomes part of your language.

Ed Young- God & Religion

October 2, 2014

From Fellowship Church I bring you my pastor Ed Young. While attending this sermon, I knew I HAD TO SHARE with you!

“All religions are basically the same. After all, they all point to God.” That is something that many people in our world believe. It is perpetuated by the media and reported as fact by current culture. But is there any reality to it? In this message, Pastor Ed Young unpacks the basics behind the major world religions. He reveals the truth of how Christianity stands apart and distinct from every other religion. And we discover the powerful truth that God doesn’t want us to be religious; he wants a relationship with us.

Confessions and Declarations

Offense is something that keeps us all inside a trap of isolation. These hand picked scriptures from Gods living and breathing Word can be confessed and declared over your life daily. This will help keep you away from that trap and flowing in the stream of blessings!

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. "But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.” Mark 11:-25-26

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13

And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him. Luke 2:40

But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Romans 5:15

"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:2

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. Mark 8:34

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:10

We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.

Romans 15:2

Don't be concerned for your own good but for the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:24

Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, Philippians 2:3-8

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 2 Corinthians 4:8

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:4

Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalms 34:18

And the LORD said, "That's right, and it means that I am watching, and I will certainly carry out all my plans.” Jeremiah 1:12

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. Isaiah 55:11

Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? Romans 4:1

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, 'May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. Mark 11:23

All who invoke a blessing or take an oath will do so by the God of truth. For I will put aside my anger and forget the evil of earlier days. Isaiah 65:16

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12

Because I am righteous, I will see you. When I awake, I will see you face to face and be satisfied. PSALM 17:15

You thrill me, LORD, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. O LORD, what great works you do! And how deep are your thoughts.  Psalms 92:4-5

A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones. Proverbs 14:30

Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn't have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. Philippians 4:11

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19

I am a God pleaser, not a people pleaser! Acts 5:29

I am not controlled by what people think of me. As long as God is satisfied with me, I am satisfied. I Corinthians 4:3-4

The love of Christ controls me 2 Corinthians 5:14

I don’t try to be popular with people. All I want is to do the will of God. Galatians 1:10

I love people and I want them to be happy with me but I don’t allow them to control me. I am led by the Holy Spirit. Colossians 1:10 and Thessalonians 2:4
